These two are the definition of “opposites attract”. Alvin is quiet, shy, and reserved while Julie is bubbly, gregarious, and the life of the party. I can’t WAIT to see what this baby boy comes out like! I had such a fabulous time with these two wandering around Downtown Memphis. We had such a beautiful day to shoot and such a variety of cool locations. This is one of my favorite sessions to date! And hello? Isn’t she gorgeous??

You two ROCK! Thanks so much for the fabulous time and I can’t wait to see you guys again in about a month to welcome a sweet little man into your world!

Oh my goodness, how cute is this little guy!! He was beautiful as a newborn and is just as adorable as a 6 month old. We had a fabulous time capturing this sweet age (my favorite age second only to newborns!).

Myles, I can’t wait to watch you grow and continue to capture these precious milestones. Thanks for entrusting me with these memories, Jesslyn!

And finally…a baby girl. After having 5 boys, this family finally welcomed a little pink into their lives when Emery made her grand entrance. I love this family so much and was thrilled to be there to help them welcome this little blessing.

Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful moment in your lives. I am so honored to have been there to capture these precious moments for you. I can’t wait to watch all these little ones grow!

PS. This was my very last film session. All shot on Kodak Portra 400 + Contax 645 & Nikon F100.

I don’t know how many of you actually read the “About Me” section of a website, but I have to tell you as someone on the other side of that bio, that it is truly agonizing to write. The photographers that I know really work hard to put their personality out there in words and it is not an easy thing to convey. Writing about yourself is not fun.

I sat out to write my about section this time with heart, feeling, and honesty. When I set out to redo my website and my branding, the one thing that I wanted to ring true was REALNESS. I just want to be REAL! What you see here on my website is the result of that and it is 100% me, really and truly. (Well, except for the “What to Wear” page…honestly, someone wrote it better than me and gave permission to use it with a link back to her website, so I did. It’s fantastic. You should go read it.)

So, in case you are one of those people that skip the “about” section of a website, I wanted to put it out here as a blog post as well. I worked hard on it and I want you to read it because I want you to know who I am as a person, as a photographer, and as a business owner. I take great pride in just being myself because THAT is what I want you to believe in. Believe that you can trust me with your precious photos because I honestly care what you think about them. I want you to be over the moon happy with your portraits and I will do whatever I have to do to make that happen. So read on. It’s not long. It’s short, sweet, and to the point, but most importantly…it’s me.

HI. I’M BRANDY. AND I’M A PHOTOGRAPHER.

But I’m not JUST a photographer. I’m also a mother and a lover of bacon (but that’s a whole other story)…

But seriously, I understand the importance of documenting the beauty and innocense of childhood, the milestones, the quirky expressions, and the fleeting moments. I take beautiful, meaningful images and I guarantee that you are going to love your portraits…I promise. On the rare occasion that something is not quite right? I’ll make it right, no matter what. You can count on that. I know that custom photography is a big investment and I want you to know that you can trust me with your memories. I genuinely adore each and every client that chooses to work with me which makes it even more important to me that you love the work I create. The thing is, my job is to make you happy and I want you to consider me your personal photographer, as well as your friend.

PS. I’ve been known to see clients in public and go in for a hug. Just a warning…

This adorable family currently consists of mom, dad and 5 handsome boys but in just a short few weeks, the dynamics will change as they welcome their 6th child…a sweet baby GIRL that I’m so excited to meet. Miss Savannah is such a beautiful child and I’m sure she doles out smiles on a daily basis for mom and dad. However, she was not being generous on this particular day for her photographer. Despite the lack of grins, we still managed to squeeze out some gorgeous images in our short time together. This series is a typical offering of my mini sessions…one outfit with a variety of poses. Thank you Kristen & Rob for allowing me into your home to capture your sweet angel at 8 months. She is precious and I can’t wait to see her at 12 months….maybe there will be more smiles that day
